Overview
The Town of Cedaredge has one mayor and six town trustees elected at large, all of which hold all or part of four-year terms.

Mayor Pat Means

Patricia "Pat" Means was raised in Southern Indiana; obtained her nursing degree in 1964, then moved to Colorado in 1968 while pursuing graduate degrees in education and business.  She had broad experience in hospital nursing and administration as well as teaching health sciences for college freshman.  She also served on several State and local professional boards.  Pat owned a consulting business and Wood Art business.  After seim-retirement in 1996 she owned and operated an historic B & B in Glenwood Springs.

In 2001, Pat purchased property in Ginter’s Grove, then subsequently retired and moved to Cedaredge where she participated as a vendor during Applefest, served seniors as a Meals on Wheels driver, joined the Library Friends support group, became a volunteer at Pioneer Town and signed up at Deer Creek now known as the Cedaredge Golf Club. 

Pat was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2008.  Appointed Mayor in 2009; elected Mayor in 2010.  She was the first female Mayor in the Town’s 100 year history.

Ken Simpson

Ken Simpson grew up in the Washington Park area in Denver.  He graduated from South High School.  He graduated from Emily Griffith Opportunity School with and degree as an Auto Technician and used that education to work his way to a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Economics and Business Management Degree from Metropolitan State College.  Ken and his wife Conne moved to Steamboat Springs in 1972 were they raised their two sons Keith and Jeff.  From 1972 to 1977 Ken and Conne owned and operated Sunshine Mtn. Conoco and drove tow trucks for M&M Auto.  In 1977 Ken and Conne sold the Conoco and started a towing service called Sunshine Mtn. Auto.  They also owned and operated the Husky Station in 1985.  In 1989 Ken and Conne sold the towing business, but continued to help out the new owners.  They purchased the Big A Auto Parts Store in Steamboat and increased the sales by 150% in under 3 years. Ken served on the Board of Directors for the State Professional Towing Association and was an Elder while Conne was the secretary at the Steamboat Christian Center.  Ken and Conne were active in the Routt County Republican Party. Ken served with Routt County Search and Rescue and work closely with the Steamboat Ambulance and Steamboat Fire and served as a reserve officer for the Steamboat Police Department.  Conne dispatched for the Steamboat Police Department and the Routt County Sheriff’s Office. In 1997 Ken and Conne sold the Big A Auto Parts Store and purchased the Grand Mesa Lodge from Chuck and Jan Harrington who were long time friends from Steamboat.  Ken and Conne owned and operated the Grand Mesa Lodge in a close relationship with the Grand Mesa National Forest until 2011. Ken and Conne were involved in several rescues on the Mesa.  Ken is the grooming chairman and vice president of the Delta SnoKrusers Snowmobile Club and has groomed for the Grand Mesa Nordic Council and is in charge of grooming 137 miles of the Sunlight to Powderhorn Snowmobile Trails.  Ken writes the grants for the grooming equipment and the grants for the grooming funds which come from the registrations snowmobilers purchase for their equipment. In 2007 they purchased the Ole Bakery Café in Cedaredge and sold it in 2012.  Ken was elected to the Trustee Board in 2012.  Ken and Conne worked closely together in all the various businesses for 41 years.  Conne went to be with Jesus suddenly in May of 2012.

Larry Smith
Laurence was born in a small town in Connecticut about the size of Cedaredge.  He graduated from Trinity College  and received his MA and PHD from Clark University.  He spent three years in the USAF.  He has lived in Cedaredge for 10 years since his wife, Debra took a family practice and ER position in the area.  Laurence and Debra have 10 children and 21 grandchildren including 4 great grand children.  He had a private practice in Denver and San Antonio for many years and has a small practice in Cedaredge.  He raced slalom and giant slalom for 20 years and still plays basketball for Colorado Senior Olympics.  His team qualified and played in 10 national senior games over the last 20 years.

Gene Welch
Gene was born in Denver, the first of 10 children.  He graduated from Mapleton High School in 1964.  He has taken two Dale Carnegie courses and several management classes. 

He married his high school sweetheart Judy in 1965.  They have two children DeAnna that lives in Wyoming with her husband and son, and Dewayne that lives in Cedaredge.
