Patricia "Pat" Means was raised in Southern Indiana; obtained her nursing degree in 1964, then moved to Colorado in 1968 while pursuing graduate degrees in education and business. She had broad experience in hospital nursing and administration as well as teaching health sciences for college freshman. She also served on several State and local professional boards. Pat owned a consulting business and Wood Art business. After seim-retirement in 1996 she owned and operated an historic B & B in Glenwood Springs.
In 2001, Pat purchased property in Ginter’s Grove, then subsequently retired and moved to Cedaredge where she participated as a vendor during Applefest, served seniors as a Meals on Wheels driver, joined the Library Friends support group, became a volunteer at Pioneer Town and signed up at Deer Creek now known as the Cedaredge Golf Club.
Pat was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2008. Appointed Mayor in 2009; elected Mayor in 2010. She was the first female Mayor in the Town’s 100 year history.
